usic Club Online for ages 8-12

Join the adventure!

At our new online World of Music Journeys, you’ll take a musical tour of the world from your own home! You’ll meet superstar musicians from different countries and be the audience at private concerts! You’ll receive a tin whistle in your welcome pack which you’ll learn to play, along with any other instruments you have in your home! And you’ll complete the Arts Award Discover programme and receive a certificate! No previous music skills are needed.

Saturdays, 9.30am-11.00am, on Zoom.

Dates: Nov: 14th, 21st, 28th. Dec: 5th, 12th

Cost: £15 which includes all five weeks of the course, a welcome pack including a tin whistle, and Arts Award Discover certification. Full bursaries available

Meet the Team

Grace Smith 

Grace Smith is a fiddle player, clog dancer, and dedicated educator. She can be seen performing at festivals and venues across Europe with Monster Ceilidh Band and the Grace Smith Trio, as well as her inspiring teaching work for all ages and with a wide range of organisations.

Sam Partridge

A compelling and innovative musician, Sam is a multi-instrumentalist primarily heard performing on the Concert Timber Flute or English Concertina. Specialising in traditional music from across the British Isles, Sam can most often be found performing with instrumental sextet, Pons Aelius. As a committed educator, Sam is the current Artistic Director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble.

Bella Hardy

BBC Radio 2 Folks Awards Singer of the Year 2014, singer and fiddle player Bella has released 10 critically acclaimed solo albums, performed in groups and as a solo artist around the world, won multiple awards, and is our Learning Programme Manager at Band on the Wall!

Kate Anita

Kate is a Singer Songwriter from Manchester, taking influences from folk and alternative pop to create a twist on the traditional singer songwriter style.

 

 


World of Music Journeys began in September 2020 as a weekly music club which met in person at St Georges Community Centre, Manchester. We are excited to be taking this programme online, and welcoming new club members from far and wide!
